Call 718-767-8400 today and arrange a complimentary consultation with our orthodontists to learn about our types of braces in Whitestone, New York, and to gain the best smile results possible.

Lingual Braces
“Lingual” means “tongue;” lingual braces are placed on the side of the teeth near the tongue, meaning the back side of the teeth. This type of braces use metal brackets and wires like traditional braces, but because they’re on the back of the teeth, they’re almost completely invisible from the outside. The main disadvantage of lingual braces is that they’re the most expensive type of orthodontic treatment, mainly because it takes more of the orthodontist’s time to work in the space behind the teeth. Some people feel that lingual braces are more difficult to get used to than regular braces because they are close to the tongue.

Which Braces Are Right For You?

Which type of braces you end up with depends on your personal choice, as well as what needs you have for your teeth. An orthodontic specialist can help you determine which of the options would be best to help you to achieve that perfect smile you’re hoping for.
